Antin Infrastructure Partners and Pulsant

On the 27th of July, Antin Infrastructure Partners announced that they were acquiring one of the UK’s largest providers of data centre and cloud infrastructure, Pulsant.

Pulsant currently owns and operates 10 data centres across the UK and provides data centre and cloud infrastructure including, colocation, private cloud and also network connectivity for over a thousand private enterprise and public sector customers.

It’s said that Antin are planning to work with Pulsant’s management team, CEO Rob Coupland and CFO Brad Petzer who will create a clear growth strategy including more investments to develop a strong platform and network.

The need for UK data centres and cloud infrastructure is said to continue to grow significantly. The growth seen has been highlighted by the fundamental macro trends which include outsourcing of IT and data infrastructure, this allows a more secure and cost-effective way to store and process data. The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated this trend as many companies and organisations look to overcome common challenges to digital transformation by accessing reliable IT and data infrastructure.

Simon Soder, a partner at Antin has said:

“The pandemic has further reinforced the importance of reliable and flexible infrastructure for connectivity, storage and processing of data given the prevalence of remote working and as more businesses shift to cloud-based solutions. Through its network of regional data centres, Pulsant is uniquely placed to support businesses across the UK with high-quality flexible data centre and cloud infrastructure solutions.”

This is a big move for Antin and Pulsant, in the coming years, they will have the ability to deliver customised solutions for all their customers.
