Emma is currently Associate Director at industry trade body techUK, with responsibility for the UK data centre sector. She represents the interests of UK operators on policy, compliance and reputational matters. An experienced policy professional, Emma has achieved some significant outcomes for the sector, including securing a climate change agreement worth over £200m to UK data centre businesses.


As well as influencing policy she has been effective in mitigating regulatory burdens, alerting operators to risks and presenting the sector as key economic contributor and career destination of choice. She manages specialist groups, including the UK Council of Data Centre Operators. Emma has produced a wide range of publications including thought leadership, policy responses, position statements, white papers, briefings, guidance, opinion pieces and infographics covering topics from generator emissions to Brexit.


Emma is a recipient of three prestigious awards: DCD “Outstanding Contribution to the Industry” in 2013, TAF “Effective Voice” (best campaign) in 2014 and DataCloud “Sector Ambassador” in 2018. She is a regular speaker at industry events on issues from air quality legislation to diversity, and an awards judge.
